A labyrinth is an ancient symbol that relates to wholeness. The labyrinth combines circles and spirals into a wandering but meaningful path. When I think of labyrinths I think of the spirals of DNA/ We walk the labyrinth to our own soul and back into our self made world which is given deeper meaning for having walk this path. Labyrinths have long been used has been used for centuries as a means to find our purpose in being on this earth. I have always been fascinated by the labyrinth. It is an ancient tool that was given to us for problem solving. The three basic parts of the labyrinth are the entrance, the circuits, and the center. The labyrinth has often been confused with the maze but they are not the same. The maze is a puzzle to be solved the labyrinth is only one path. It has one entrace and one path that leads to the center.

For some reason the picture of labyrinth would not show up. So I put the download. You can download screen savers or labyrinths to print and then you can use them for your meditation. In the above labyrinth we can see how this works. One makes the decision to step inside the labyrinth. Take your cursor now and enter. Think of your problem just one and fix it in your mind. Then deliberately walk the labyrinth in your mind. Example: You have two houses that you are trying to decide on which one to buy. As you enter the labyrinth remember each path is related with a feeling or mental thought about the challenge of this concern. As you enter you will assign each path with a feeling. Let's explore this problem by walking the labyrinth. As you enter path 7 you say to yourself, "I will explore the challenge as how it will effect me on the physical level." "If I buy house A how will it affect my money, emotiional, health." In path 6 I will explore my feelings about this problem. I will ask myself, "how do I feel about house A and how do I feel about house B?" As I walk path 6 I will ask myself, "what do I think about each house?" path 5 I will feel how this will effect me spiritually which house will enhance my spiritual growth, which one will inhibit it? As I enter path 4I will ask myself "What is the first thing I must do?" I now wait patiently for the answer. path 3 I visualize the answer to my challenge or problem. I accept what comes to my mind as a resolution to my challenge. path 2 I ask the Higher Power to walk with me and I place the challenge in Higher Powers hands and I am grateful for the solution. You are now at your center. This is the place that you just accept the solution you have been given and let it penetrate your mind. Just accept it. You have completed the first half of your walk. "The labyrinth is an archetype of transformation. Its transcendant nature knows no boundaries, crossing time and cultures with ease. The labyrinth serves as a bridge from the mundane to the divine. It serves us well." Kimberly Lowelle Saward, Ph.D., The Labyrinth Socieity, President
You are now ready for the walk out again. Walk path 5 and look at the answers you were given in Path 1. Accept the answers as real and the thing you should do. Walk path 6 just keep looking at the answer you were given don't judge it or get envolved in the intelllect. Walk path 5 and thank Higher Power for the answers you found. Walk path 4 ask yourself how will this answer effect your spiritual self. Will it help you grow spiritually? Walk path 1 ask yourself how will this effect my health, my money, my body, my physeical life? Walk path 2 and ask yourself, How does this answer feel to me? Walk path 3 and ask yourself what do I think about this answer? As you walk this path ask the question in a different way. As you leave the labyrinth thank Higher Power for the answers you have received.
