ARTIFACTS, according to the American Heritage? Dictionary, are objects that are produced or shaped by human craft, especially a tool, weapon, or ornament of archaelogical or historical interest. Artifacts comprise much of human history.
For example, Native American artifacts which have been found include items like Indian arrowheads. Egyptian artifacts may be comprised of hieroglyphs and stone tablets. Roman clothing, and other objects like armor are considered artifacts as well. Ancient literature and antique paintings could also be artifacts.
But artifacts are not simply based on governments, groups or country regions, private individuals may have a collection of artifacts handed down from generation to generation. Some artifacts may be worth millions, while others may hold sentimental value.
