Money matters are the necessary evils in our lives with what we must all come to terms. Nearly a century ago, money matters were quite clear. When people had to manage money back then, there were no major lending institutions and credit card banks; rather, families kept their funds at home. When the money ran out, it simply ran out.
Money matters today have entered a whole other dimension. Now, when we go to work, we aren't simply living anymore to obtain our sustainable needs. Today, we work to obtain the unobtainable. With the reign of "free money" (e.g., credit cards, signature loans, etc.), we can just about own anything we "want." In the case of money matters, our wants nowadays, are being placed in front of our basic needs. Somewhere along the timeline of society, money matters have become moreso a status quo as opposed to a real, life investment.
Money matters are a requirement of life. Teaching youth by example is an important step in gaining adequate knowledge on how to manage money more efficiently. Working hard, developing skills and learning to earn things in life is a must. But what comes next? Educating one's self in wise investments and keeping a stiff budget where s/he can save money for a rainy day. Money matters don't end there, though. As adults, teaching our children about commitment, discipline, honesty and accountability are the fundamental principles of life. From Matthew 6:21, "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." You see, money matters go back way before the modern era.
Responsible persons must learn how to manage their money and lead their offspring by living example. If money matters to you, or if you have a thought on how to manage money more fluidly, please feel free to submit an article or experience that may help our patrons; here at Holistic Junction.
