Learning about the science revolving around the muscles, their complimentary parts; including tendons, aponeuroses, bursae and fasciae - myology is similar to sarcology (scientific study of the soft parts).
In general, myology is considered that portion of anatomy which treats the muscles. By learning about myology, students can comprehend the structure, function, diseases and disorders of the muscles; and gain the knowledge on how these diseases and disorders relate to other body systems, including the nervous system.
