POLARITY THERAPY eincorporates energy-based bodywork, diet, exercise and self-awareness. By working with the human energy field, (mentally,emotionally and physically-expressed electo-magnetic patterns) Polarity Therapy is designed to balance this energy field and bring about well-being.
Developed by Dr. Randolph Stone (1890-1981) through investigation of healing energy arts, he discovered that the human energy field is effected by touch. Polarity therapy (polarity referring to expansion/contraction or repulsion/attraction - like that of the "Yang and Yin"), integrates the "Three Principles and Five Chakras."
The theory behind Polarity Therapy is that when energy is unbalanced, blocked or locked due to stress or other issues, illness and pain evolve. Polarity therapy is a means of finding the blockages to release energy to original flow patterns. During a Polarity therapy session, a practitioner observes and assesses the energies while utilizing palpition and interviews. Sessions last anywhere from 60-90 minutes, does not require nudity and uses both touch and verbal communication.
During Polarity Therapy, the practitioner uses light, medium or firm touch contact. This method is used to increase self-awareness of soft energy sensations, which are sometimes experienced as tingling, warmth, expansion or fluidlike motion. The end result of a Polarity Therapy session may vary. Some clients find deep relaxation, while others gain insight into energetic flows and their effects; thus receiving relief from many specified problems.
