Anger Management
What is Anger Management? Anger Management focuses on managing anger issues. Goals in anger management include the reduction of both emotional feelings and the physiological aspects that anger triggers. Though we cannot control actions of others and separate events; through anger management, we learn to realize that we cannot change those unavoidable events, rather, we learn to control our reactions.
Anger management encompasses psychological exams that test the intensity of feelings brought about by anger. Then, anger management practitioners will study how susceptible individuals are to anger, and how well one is able to deal with anger.
Once evaluations have been made during an anger management session, techniques like relaxation are taught. Anger Management relaxation techniques may include deep breathing and imagery exercises. Additionally, visualization and yoga are superb anger management tools.
Other anger management tools may include cognitive restructuring, problem solving, learning better communication skills, incorporating humor, environmental changes, counseling and assertive or personal training.
Overall, Anger management techniques help to control angry reactions and prevent individuals from creating their own unhappiness.
