Cardiovascular Disease
CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE, also known as Heart Disease, is considered a disorder which affects the heart and its ability to properly function. Cardiovascular disease is commonly caused by coronary artery blockages or narrowing. When blockages or narrowing occur due to cardiovascular disease, the blood supply to the heart can be dramatically effected.
Cardiovascular disease can be also be congenital, or attributed to abnormal heart valve function, abnormal heart rhythm, or heart function weakened by infection or other toxins.
Cardiovascular disease includes a broad spectrum of disorders such as aortic regurgitation, arrhythmias, congenital heart disease, coronary heart disease, and many others.
Some individuals are more susceptible to cardiovascular disease if there is a family history of heart disease, if one smokes or uses cocaine, having higher than normal cholesterol or high blood pressure, and/or diabetes.
Cardiovascular disease, (unless congenital - born with) can be somewhat prevented through healthy, well-balanced diets, plenty of exercise and rest, and proper nutritional supplements and vitamins.
