Color Therapy
What is COLOR THERAPY? Color therapy is a treatment technique commonly used by Ayurvedic healers, Indian healers, and other naturopathic healers in help in healing. By having a client enter a colored room or viewing specific colors, patients have found stress release and relaxation.
In color therapy, red signifies choleric temperament. The color of life, red is said to make the blood boil, increase pulse rate, raise blood pressure and breathing. Red color therapy is used to support the circulatory functions and is used successfully to battle anaemia, asthma, larnyx diseases, chronic coughs and certain skin diseases.
Orange color therapy promotes cheerfulness and happiness. Orange color therapy, therefore, helps to treat mental illnesses like depression and negativity. Orange color therapy also works well for arteriosclerosis, sclerenecephaly, cardiosclerosis, appetite loss, anaemia and anorexia.
Yellow color therapy is used to treat glandular diseases and lymphatic system diseases. It is also utilized to strenghten the nervous system, speeds metabolism, glandualr activity and improves stomach secretion.
Green color therapy, in naturopathic treatment, is used to treat bronchitis, whooping cough, joint inflammations and swelling, cysts, eye diseases, diabetes, organ relaxation and stimulates body detoxification.
Blue color therapy is attuned to peace and infinity. The color blue has a calming effect that relaxes individuals. Blue color therapy is therefore applied to relieve headaches, migraines, stomach pains and muscle cramps. Overall, blue color therapy has a positive effect on most painful conditions; while violet color therapy is used to treat the lymphatic system and the spleen.
After being treated with color therapy, one can experience sensations of his/her body feeling lighter, pain relief, more energy and alertness, relaxation, higher awareness and concentration; and color therapy is said to be a voyage of self-discovery -- enabling those treated to release past issues and traumas. In other words, color therapy treatment assists the body as a "whole" -- mind, body and spirit.
