Continuum Movement
CONTINUUM MOVEMENT? What is Continuum Movement? Continuum Movement is, according to Kaiopa Stage, "...Your attention may be drawn to a slowly undulating belly, or to an arm gracefully exploring space as if a tentacle investigating its watery environment..."
Sound peculiar? Not really. In a Continuum Movement class, one may discover many individuals in diverse acts of expressionism; including arcing, spiraling and even suspension.
Founded in 1967 by Emilie Conrad, Continuum Movement is an approach to movement education. Through Continuum Movement, one can make a distinction between functional movement and organic movement. What is the difference between the two? Function movement ensures our survival through daily tasks; organic movement is the biological processes that oocur due to the environment such as goose bumps, shivering, etc.
Continuum Movement utilizes breath, sound and movement to increase mobility, alleviate pain, free physical, mental and emotional inhibitions, increase fluidity and the capacity for life.
A form of self-healing through movement, Continuum Movement is beneficial to those who embrace it. To learn more about Continuum Movement, peruse our Holistic Directory today at HolisticJunction.com.
