Nutrition is a form of science that focuses on what foods are beneficial to the body and how these foods are used by the body. There are a number of benefits available to individuals when it comes to following a well balanced, healthy diet.

Nutrition doesn't end there, it entails eating two to four cups of grains and related foods that are unrefined and minimally processed, up to seven cups of fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables daily, proteins mostly in the forms of legumes, nuts, seeds, fish, poultry and less often red meat. Eating moderate amounts of fats such as plant oils as opposed to animal fats, snack amounts of dairy products mostly composed of yogurt and cheese, and very little amounts of sugar and salt.
