A UROLOGIST is a medical physician who diagnoses and treats diseases of the urinary tract and urogenital system. Urologists may treat diseases and disorders such as cancers of the bladder, kidney, and prostate. A Urologist may also trat kidney stones, pelvic floor disorders, genitourinary tract conditions, incontinence and sexual dysfunction in both men and women.
To become a urologist, students must attend an accredited medical college or university. Upon graduation, potential urologists must additionally partake in an accredited 6-year medical program geared toward urology training and research.
