What is "A Course in Miracles?" As implicated, "A Course in Miracles" is indeed exactly that -- a course in miracles, strategically organized moreso as a self-instructional guide, consisting of three books. First published in 1975, "A Course in Miracles" provides a curriculum that is thoughtfully envisioned and explained in a step-by-step, theoretical and practical way. "A Course in Miracles" promotes application, opposed to theory. It teaches the experience -- not theology.
According to its manual and its course instruction, "...a universal theology is impossible, but a universal experience is not only possible but necessary." Unlike a religion, (although built upon Christian statement), "A Course in Miracles" entails universal spirituality. Basically, "A Course in Miracles" leads one to believe that people are indeed separate and have individual spiritualities and religious backgrounds, but regardless of faith or denomination, all roads ultimately lead to God.
Closely related to Freud's Structural and Typographical Models of Personality (id, ego & superego), "A Course in Miracles" provides us with the necessary foundation to coexist with each other on a parallel plain of peace through the gift of the Holy Spirit. The difference between Freud's theory is that in "A Course in Miracles," we learn acceptance and forgiveness, relinquishing the "superego." Also likend to Karma, as we forgive, we gain forgiveness; thus the spirit is complete and whole.
