Based on ancient writings of Plato, Atlantis is often referred to as the "Lost City." Atlantis, comprised of an Athenian civilization existing 9,000- 9,600 years B.C., was very advanced in the timeline of history. According to Plato's literature, Atlantis, (although technologically superior to other nations), met with cataclysmic demise due to its own hands.
Organized and a profound military nation, Atlantis' natives were educated and utilized herbal remedies and concoctions in healing. In Atlantis, one would have found multiple irrigation systems, hydraulic mechanisms, and well-constructed bridges and buildings. (Which, oft times, were coated in copper, bronze and gold.) Futhermore, Atlantis' Athenians were well versed and wrote numerous laws and literary works. Had one been a woman during the time of Atlantis, she would have been held in high esteem, as Atlantis had an immaculate system of monarchy in addition to their emperiocal laws.
With regard to size, Atlantis was conceived by Plato to have been massive. By measurements taken from Critias', Plato made an estimate that Atlantis was nearly eight million miles in land area. Questions still loom around the exact location of Atlantis; as it has been said to be located by the Strait of Gibraltor and even in the Bermuda Triangle. Modern geographical historians are still trying to pinpoint its exact resting place today. Assuming that Atlantis did exist and sunk into the dark depths of the ocean, one can only imagine how daily life was carried out; and if Atlantis was an actual continent, the assumption is that Atlantis is beneath the ocean awaiting future discovery.
