Physics is a science that entails matter and energy, and their interactions. Through physics, we learn about fundamental components of the Universe, how force is exerted with one another, and results that are a product of these forces. Closely related to other natural sciences, Physics includes most of them.
Geophysics, for example, describes the interaction of atoms and the formation of molecules. Astronomy portends with physics of the stars and our solar system; as does physics play a role in the study of living systems made up of particles, like biophysics and biochemistry. These types of sciences are all interlinked in that they all follow the equivalent laws of physics. Macroscopic research is the basic foundation of most chemical and mechanical engineering in physics as well.
Physics branched off as an individual science altogether in the early 19th century. Because the field of physics has exploded since that time, physicists must limit themselves to one or two branches of science. Ancient physics were inadvertently utilized by an inventor named Archimedes who designed mechanical devices based on the density measurements of solid bodies by means of liquid submersion. The development of physics truly began with Newton's Laws of Motion. Newton's second law states that the force needed to accelerate an object will be proportional to its mass times the acceleration. This physics' law basically states that the greater the mass, the slower the change of velocity when a force is impressed. Most importantly is the third law stating that "for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction." His basic teachings (of physics) are still used to this day. From Albert Einstein's Theory of Relativity, to Newton's Laws of Motion, physics today is used in more ways than one. Nuclear, astronomy and everyday science encompasses physics and its fundamental practices in modern society; and will certainly play a vital role in the future of tomorrow.
