RELIGIONS are as old as the Earth exists. In ancient times, Egyptians worshipped the Sun and other idols. Pagan religion's fundamental principles are based with nature, and Wicca is an "Earth-based" religion.
Religions encompass a vast group of ethnicities. Christian, Jewish, Muslim and Islamic, and Zoroastrian religions stem from West Asia traditions. Buddhist, Confucian, Hindu, Jain, Shinto, Sikh, and Taoist religions stem from South and East Asia. Of course, these days, new or Alternative religions such as Scientology are fast becoming new-age methods of practicing modern religion.
Religion gives people an identity, and for some, a reason to live. Some religions have strict rules and are taken very seriously. While other religions practice freedom of nature, most religions believe in a "higher power" or God. Religious persecution and wars are still prevalent in modern society. Perhaps one day, all religions will be equally tolerated so that peace can finally prevail.
