An ancient Oracle, Runes are older than the New Testament, and have lain silently more than 300 years. Closely related to Tarot, Runes were last used in Iceland in the late Middle Ages. During this time, Runes were utilized as the I Ching of the Vikings. Made up of 25 flat stones, each Rune but one, (The Unknowable) displays a specific hieroglyphic. Instrumental to our internal wisdom, the Runes provide inner guidance to the ego-self and the Higher Self.
There are several Runic spreads, including the "Runic or Celtic Cross." Read from right to left, each symbolic stone channels broad and inner meanings to the reader. Casting Runes, like dreams, and other prophetic channels, allows the reader to delve deeper into the here and now, resolutions and what may lie ahead. The answers are left to the "Self," as the Runes are active guides to higher spirituality and completeness.
