Believing that all persons are created with sacred value, Unity Church was founded in 1889 by Charles and Myrtle Fillmore. A supportive and spiritual growth organization, Unity Church is valued for its intruction on healing power through the use of prayer and affirmations. Through prayer, publishing and educational ministries, Unity Church has provided persons throughout the world with positive, spiritual messages of hope, healing, prosperity and peace.
The fundamental beliefs of Unity Church are comprised of Four principles: the first being that God and Divine Mind are the Source and Creator of all. The second principle that persons are all spiritual beings. Third - that Jesus was a special person in history who expressed perfection and thereby became the Christ. And the final principle being that Jesus' teachings were based on prayer, using the spoken word.
