What, Exactly, is life? The Scriptures state in various places that the spirit is life. Exactly what is that saying? How does it work? Why doesn't a dog ever have kittens, or a whale give birth to a dolphin? Some would say; "Well, it is carried in the genes," or; "It is because of the DNA or RNA factor." All of this may be so, but it is only knowledge and has not one iota of understanding in it.
What is meant by 'spirit'? We may all lay claim to being a spirit being, and it is easy to say God is a spirit, as if we know what we mean and as if we expect others to know what we mean.
I have stated that love is all there is, so whatever 'spirit' is, it must have of necessity emanated from love, for there is no other place for it to come from. We all have a tendency to underestimate God, so we certainly underestimate love.
Where we are concerned, I mean any living thing, whether it be plant, animal or human, we can liken love to a radio station sending out signals.
This is not a treatise on electrodynamics or electrokinetics, but a short comparison is needful in order to understand spirit, thus understanding life.
Though there is no real comparison of radio waves to love waves, it is the exact same principle, but with gigantic differences, as you will soon see.
Love is not infinite, or it could not exist in this finite universe, but where the physical universe is concerned, it may as well be. As an example, radio waves, or electromagnetic waves operate on various cycles, usually from ten thousand cycles per second to three hundred thousand million cycles per second, whereas love operates from below zero cycles to quadruple decillions frequencies.
OK, don't get bogged down here. I will make it simple. Lets say there is a radio station transmitter in a town near you, and another radio station transmitter in the same town, both transmitting signals out to many radio receiver sets (to many radios). Now, lets say you have a radio receiver set that you can receive the signals from both, but not at the same time. Why? Because they each transmit their signal on a different frequency, or a different number of cycles per minute, and in order to pick up the signal from either one, you must tune your receiver set to the same frequency each one is transmitting at.
Remember, we are talking of life here, so I am not getting off track. Once you understand this process, you will understand 'life,' and what causes it. Let us say that radio station #1 is transmitting its signal at a frequency of 300,000 cycles, or revolutions per second, and radio station #2 is transmitting its signal at a frequency of 400,000 cycles per second. Any receiver set tuned to 400,000 cycles per second can only receive the signal from station #2, but not #1. The receiver set can only tune into one transmitter at a time. Never to two of them at once. This is how it is with love as the frequency transmitter, and all life forms as the receiver set. However, radio waves have different amplitudes (size or greatness) which vary with time, whereas love totally transcends all time. Also, radio waves diminish in effect with distance, but with love there is no distance, for it is at all points at the same time, or just barely short of it.
A radio wave sent to any system twenty light years away, traveling at the speed of light, would reach that system twenty years from now, whereas a love wave sent the same distance would reach it in less than one tenth of a second. With all of this in mind, let us proceed. In each radio receiver set is an oscillating devise, or a vibrator, if you will, made up of either tubes or transistors, with a certain rate of oscillation or vibration. It is this oscillating device we must pay close attention to. The exact same thing happens within all living things, and in fact, this is what determines life.
Understand the difference between vibration and oscillation. The use of the word 'vibrating' where the universe is concerned is not exactly correct. Vibration simply means it is moving from side to side at a very high rate of speed, whereas oscillation means it is vibrating, but in a figure eight fashion, but more like a figure eight laying on its side. That is where the sign of infinity originated. So the universe does not simply vibrate, it oscillates
The frequency of the love wave oscillation in any living thing, only at a much higher frequency or rate of vibration, produces what could be termed as an oscillation double. It is this oscillation double which is the 'spirit' of anything, and it is this vibrating double which causes life, so the spirit is life.
The greatest difference between a radio receiver set and any living organism is that a radio receiver set can tune into many different radio transmitter stations, whereas for any living organism, there is only one transmitter station to tune into and that is love. Also, love can and does transmit billions upon billions of frequencies at one time and does, continually. However, no living organism can tune into more than one specific frequency, ever, and that frequency is determined by the 'kind.' As is stated in Genesis; After his kind, and after their kind.
In the flow of love a dog is tuned into the frequency of a dog, or it wouldn't be a dog, and can never bring forth anything other than the propagation of more dogs. Same with horses, aardvarks, sheep, mosquitoes, trees, flowers and of course people.
The oscillation double, or spirit, does not diminish when the physical body dies, and when it leaves, or is separated from the physical body the mind goes with it. With man kind it is different, but in only this one aspect; Man is the only organism which is both soul and mind, and it is the soul alone which makes man different from an animal. It is the mind which makes man act like an animal.
The soul of man is an exact duplicate of an Archangel, except on a much smaller scale. This is why it was written; " ye are gods, and all of you are the children of the most High, but ye shall die like men." (Psalms 82; 6-7)
By the resonation of the vibrating love wave, we ourselves have created our own spirit, for this was the result of our experiences while in a physical body; the experiences coupled with the oscillating love wave set up the resonance and produced the oscillation double.
Jesus said; "God is a spirit..," (John 4;24) so it is self evident that God is an oscillating double, but of what? Remember, the love frequency ranges from below zero cycles all the way up to quadruple decillion cycles, with rocks, for example toward the lower end of the frequencies and pure energy of an unimaginable magnitude at the upper end.
Remember also that love, per se, did not exist in the ALL-Nothing except as a possibility. When everything in the All-Nothing agreed on love, or chose for love (It was 'as if' the positives said; OK. I will agree to love if I can give it, and the negatives said; OK. I will agree to love if I can receive it.) there was an oscillating resonance (A high falutin way of saying a vibrating echo) which could have split or totally annihilated every star and planet in any galaxy.
It was this oscillation double which we know as the Word of God, and the oscillation double (vibration image) of the ALL, or the positive of the All-Nothing is the Father, and the oscillation double of the resonance of love itself coming into Being is the Spirit of God, or the Holy Ghost, and this is the One we know as Jehovah. The oscillating double of the negative part of the All-Nothing was Lucifer. The substance of the All-Nothing became the Angels and devils.
But where mankind is concerned the most important one of them all is the Word of God, for it is He with whom we have the most to do. One could say that the Word of God is the presence of the All-Nothing, and this makes Him of a dual nature, exactly as we have, for we got our dual nature from being made after Him and in Him, for He is the real true image and glory of the Godhead, and in Him dwells the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
For further understanding, this is the very reason the Word of God could replace satan as the negative end of the love flow. The Word is both positive and negative, and is of a dual nature, whereas satan is also both positive and negative, but is of a dual character. The Word, while of a dual nature, is only 'good,' but satan of a dual character is both good and evil.
We homo-sapiens ('saps' for short) are all of these, or can be, depending on who or what we allow the influence of. Because of the love wave oscillation within each of us, it is important that we let love flow out of our selves. Otherwise, when we depend on others for love and try to gather it in from them, we put a 'damper' on the oscillation and that is the primary cause of all illness or disease (dis-ease).
We don't have to 'make' love flow out, or 'cause' it to flow, for that is loves natural course, and we are of a dual nature just as the Word is. However, when we expect love from others and try to bring it in from outside of ourselves, our love becomes conditional and we then become of a dual character just as satan is.
I have never heard it put better than my good friend Connie Meyers put it to her little grandson; Just let your love flow out, and if some of it happens to hit satan, he will run from it.
So many people think they love so much, but their love is conditional. One day they will wake up and find the fact of Isaiah 29;8. To paraphrase, it will be as when a hungry person dreams that they eat, but when they awaken, their soul is empty; or as when a thirsty person dreams that they drink and then awakens and is faint, and their soul still has appetite. In other words, their conditional love does nothing to satisfy the soul, so it does nothing but dampen the oscillating love wave within which can give not just life, but health within that life.
