Spiritual Awakening and Flower Remedies
by Arianni Masters, Ph.D., N.D.

"Disease is solely and purely corrective; it is neither vindictive nor cruel, but it is the means adopted by our own souls to point out to us our faults, to prevent our making greater errors, to hinder us from doing more harm, and to bring us back to the path of Truth and Light from which we should never have strayed." Dr. Edward Bach

Are you feeling stuck? Do you feel despondent? Are you afraid of the future or the past? Is it hard to make decision? Or are you too rigid in your opinions? Is guilt holding you back? Are you feeling a sense of confusion, or lack of purpose? Is your life not working the way it used to? Then, you may need a Flower Remedy.

Flower essences, or flower remedies, as they are more commonly known, are used therapeutically to harmonize the body, mind, and the spirit. The essences are said to contain the life force of the flower used to make them. Thousands of essences are available in health food stores, and they work "vibrationally" on a mental and emotional level, to relieve negative feelings, encourage the healing process, and to balance the energy in the body.

In this time of vibrational change, it is important to understand the effectiveness of vibrational medicines (i.e. energy work, homeopathy, flower essences). Many of people are feeling disconnected and without direction, we are feeling stuck or maybe blocked from what we know we should be doing. We are letting go of our Old identity and not quit connected to the New identity. It is important at this time that you not try to change things or `make' things happen, you must just let go and allow the New to unfold, easily, effortlessly, and with patience. Flower remedies are a wonderful way to `allow' rather than force change.

The holistic approach to health, disease and healing is based on the concept of the perfect Unity of all things, and the utter Uniqueness of every system contained within it. Each of us is on a unique and unrepeatable journey through life, and our state of health at any time serves as an indicator of the point we have reached on this journey.

Flower remedies are so simple that they are often dismissed as a placebo. They do not work in any biochemical way, and because no physical part of the plant remains in the remedy, its properties and actions cannot be detected or analyzed as if it were a drug or herbal preparation. The remedies contain the energy, or imprint, of the plant from which it was made and work in a way that is similar to homeopathic remedies.

Until recently, the name Dr. Edward Bach was almost synonymous with flower remedies. His set of 38 remedies became the inspiration for the worldwide development of remedies. They are still the cornerstone of flower remedy therapy and easily available. While working in the London Homeopathic Hospital, just after the First World War, he noticed that people with similar attitudes often had similar complaints. He concluded that, independently of other factors, mood and a negative attitude predisposed people toward ill health, and that illness was a manifestation of a deeper disharmony or an indication that the personality was in conflict.

In 1934, Bach wrote the following concerning the way his Flower Remedies work:

"The action of these remedies is to raise our vibrations and open up our channels for the reception of the Spiritual Self; to flood our natures with the particular virtue we need, and wash out from us the fault that is causing the harm. They are able, like beautiful music or any glorious uplifting thing which gives us inspiration, to raise our very natures, and bring us nearer to our souls and by that very act to bring us peace and relieve our sufferings. They cure, not by attacking the disease, but by flooding our bodies with the beautiful vibrations of our Higher Nature, in the presence of which, disease melts away as snow in the sunshine. There is no true healing unless there is a change in outlook, peace of mind, and inner happiness."

Human life is but part of a greater concept of creation. We live within a wider frame of reference, a more comprehensive unity, more or less like a cell within a human body. Within creation, there is Unity in all things, and each of us is related to everything else by a common, higher, more powerful form of energy that can be called: life force, universal life, love, BEING, or God.

Our soul wishes to shine through our physical form, but our body doesn't understand that concept. Our ego is afraid that true spiritual awakening means death, so it fights our attempts and creates obstacles. Flower essences can assist in removing those barriers to enlightenment and healing. I have seen Bach Flower remedies assist people on there spiritual path to overcome fear, despair, obsession, guilt, impatience, and much more. By removing the barrier that is keeping you down, you will be able to assimilate new information and move forward on your spiritual journey. I highly recommend that you try Flower essences to assist you in moving forward.
