Recently, The United States Congress and Senate passed the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA). An agreement which actually restricts and regulates trade, contains a clause which will ultimately cost You Your health.
CAFTA plus the Codex Alimentarius Commission spells disaster.
This clause forces U.S. dietary supplement regulations to "get in line" with "international standards" set by the codex commission. These "international standards" have already been put in place in Europe. Are You aware that retailers in Europe can now be prosecuted if they sell supplements which have "too much" Calcium? or "too much" Vitamin B6?
The clauses in this agreement may very well put an end toYour Freedom to purchase Natural, healthy and proven safe supplements without a prescription. That's right, only your doctor would be allowed to prescribe supplements. And these supplements, by law, will only be allowed to contain tiny amounts of nutrients which will be too small to do Your body any good.
Consider this quote from 2 time Nobel Prize winning chemist, Linus Pauling.
"Recommended daily allowances only give levels of vitamins and minerals that will prevent death or serious illness from vitamin deficiency. To get real health benefits from vitamins, you need to get more than just the minimum recommended amounts."
Realize that this agreement will also wipe out thousands of small businesses including Doctors of Natural health.
Does this sound like free trade to You?
Supplements are made from food and herbs - the things You cook and eat. Will food be next on the restricted/banned list?
It's not a question of if these clauses will be implemented, It's when.
Consider also what Congressman Ron Paul of Texas, also a medical Doctor, wrote about CAFTA.
"The largely government-run health care establishment, including the nominally private pharmaceutical companies, want government to control the dietary supplement industry - so that only they can manufacture and distribute supplements. If that happens, as it already is happening in Europe, the supplements you now take will be available only by prescription and at a much higher cost - if they are available at all. This alone is sufficient reason for Congress to oppose the unconstitutional, sovereignty-destroying CAFTA bill."
Congress and the Senate ignored the United States Constitution, trampled Your Freedoms and passed the bill anyway. These are the legislators You elected who swore an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America.
