For a few years now I've had a series of dreams regarding fish out of the water. All dreams are different and so are my reactions to the fish. The constant factor is the presence of colorful (non edible) fish in strange places or impossible situations. The fish usually fly as if swimming in air; at other times I find them on the ground or other dry surfaces. While dreaming I am generally aware that this isn't normal, I tend to feel surprised or concerned about them. Once I dreamed I was at this crowded pet shop which was filled with fish tanks all around and in the middle of the room. Suddenly I noticed that some of the fish were jumping out of the water and flying, others were on the floor. I was confused and and somewhat disturbed. However, other people there didn't seem to notice anything or find things odd. There have been other dreams in which fish just briefly appear out of the blue in strange places. I take notice of them and react to it but then the dream goes on about a diferent story and the fish are forgotten. Sometimes in my dreams I try to get the fish back in the water or have someone take care of it. At other times I seem to eventually convince myself that it is not so strange after all or I shouldn't have to do anything about it. In the latest dream I had I found myself discovering fish on the car seat as I got in my car. There were two fish there and then I saw some more on the street. Later on as I looked at the fish and explored the area, I jumped down a manhole filled with water. What followed was I was swimming deep in the ocean where I could see the fish. At this time it all felt very quiet and strangely calm. I am very curious about the meaning of fish in my dreams as I can't find an explanation for it. I haven't had any meaningful experiences involving fish and neither do I particularly like or dislike them. I do not own any fish or am I around them on a regular basis. I would very much like to find some clues or theories that would help me interpret my dreams and make some sense of them.
