Rat A Tat Tat
by Alan Peterson
Thank God!
Our great leader, George W. Bush, and the record deficit creating Republican controlled U.S. Congress, have been very busy protecting the citizens of the US once again! They are working hard to allow the 10 year old ban on the sale of assault weapons to expire! Hooray, the National Rifle Association wins again! (Where have you gone Charlton Heston, our nation turns it's lonely eyes to you, woo, woo, woo).
Now it will be legal to own a weapon that can mow down even larger groups of people, like, oh I don't know, school children or police officers or maybe those strange looking people that keep marching in the streets protesting against your favorite political leaders.
Well, we all know those all American semi automatic assault rifles will only be used by law-abiding sportsman for hunting purposes. For example, to wipe out a pesky herd of deer, or protecting the family from those annoying swarms of killer bees that have taken over the country or maybe just for sharp shooting all those beer bottles you just drank, bubba!
Yes sir, this is one dynamic leader we have. A distinguished military career, brilliant business portfolio, articulate speaker, a real man of the people. Really cares for the little guy too. Assault rifles are the great equalizer you know!
Remember, when those Iraqi terrorists come sneaking down your street with their weapons of mass destruction tucked under each arm to abduct your children and ravish your animals, you will now have the two most important means of protection money can buy, assault weapons and duct tape. Thank you George W. and all you little W's (w's) in the Congress. I feel much safer now.
Sleep well America!
